Faction Overview
The Ashiga Clan are a tightly-knit criminal organization operating primarily out of Akiva, a jungle-covered planet in the Outer Rim. Unlike the sprawling galaxy-wide operations of the Hutt Cartel or Crimson Dawn, the Ashiga are more localized — but that makes them no less valuable. Their deep roots on Akiva mean they control resources and knowledge that the larger syndicates simply don't have access to.
The Ashiga value loyalty, discretion, and competence above all else. They start with a more favorable disposition toward Kay Vess than most factions, making them an ideal early-game ally. Their contracts tend to emphasize stealth, local knowledge, and quick getaways rather than large-scale heists or political maneuvering.
The Ashiga Clan is the best faction to focus on first if you're new to Star Wars Outlaws. Their contracts are forgiving, their penalties for failure are lighter than other factions, and reaching Liked standing unlocks gear that makes the rest of the game significantly easier.
How the Reputation System Works
Like all factions in Star Wars Outlaws, the Ashiga Clan uses a five-tier reputation system. What sets them apart is that they start players at Friendly rather than Neutral — a significant head start that reflects their more welcoming nature toward capable operatives.
| Standing Level | Effect | Access |
|---|---|---|
| Enemies | Hunters deployed, territory hostile | No access |
| Suspicious | Watched, limited trust | Basic jobs only |
| Neutral | Standard operative status | Regular contracts |
| Friendly | Default starting standing ★ | Good contract selection + early discounts |
| Liked | Trusted operative | Priority contracts + gear unlocks |
| Honored | Clan insider status | All contracts + exclusive rewards |
Starting at Friendly means you're already halfway to Liked before you've done a single Ashiga job. Two or three completed contracts will push you to Liked standing — faster than any other faction in the game.
Building Your Standing
Getting to Liked — Fast
Since you start at Friendly, reaching Liked is quick. Focus on these early Akiva contracts:
- Jungle courier runs — Navigate Akiva's dense jungle terrain to deliver packages between Ashiga contact points. Low combat, good rep, excellent for learning Akiva's layout.
- Imperial intelligence gathering — The Ashiga have a strong anti-Imperial stance. Gathering intel on Imperial movements around Akiva is low-risk and highly valued.
- Rescue operations — Periodically the Ashiga will have captured operatives who need extracting. These missions are more complex but give the largest early-game rep boosts.
- Local wildlife contracts — Unique to the Ashiga, these involve navigating Akiva's dangerous fauna. Using Nix effectively here makes these trivially easy.
Liked to Honored
The path to Honored with the Ashiga requires deeper engagement with Akiva as a location and the Clan's internal politics:
- Complete the Ashiga Clan questline — A series of interconnected missions that form the backbone of their story on Akiva. Don't skip any optional objectives.
- Establish all jungle safe houses — Scattered across Akiva, these side missions each provide meaningful reputation gains and useful fast travel points.
- Attend the Clan gathering — A story event that occurs after reaching Liked. Attending is mandatory for Honored status — missing it locks you out permanently.
- Never betray Ashiga operatives — Unlike some factions where betrayal is sometimes mechanically forced, the Ashiga never put you in that position. Don't volunteer to.
The Clan gathering event is time-sensitive and tied to story progression. If you advance the main story past a certain point before attending, the event disappears and Honored standing becomes unobtainable in that playthrough.
Rewards & Unlocks
The Ashiga Clan's rewards are unique in that they focus heavily on survival and traversal — perfect for players who explore Akiva thoroughly or prefer avoiding combat entirely.
- Friendly (default): Access to Ashiga vendors on Akiva, basic contract pool available immediately
- Liked: Jungle traversal gear upgrade (dramatically improves movement through dense environments), 20% discount at all Ashiga vendors, access to Akiva hidden areas
- Honored: Exclusive Ashiga Clan outfit, the best mid-game health upgrade in the game, a unique Nix ability unlock unavailable through any other faction, and access to Akiva's secret underground network of paths
The Nix ability unlock from Honored Ashiga standing is one of the most powerful tools in the entire game for collectibles hunting. If you're going for 100% completion, prioritizing the Ashiga Clan is essentially mandatory.
Managing Faction Conflicts
Ashiga vs Other Factions
The Ashiga Clan's biggest advantage is how little they conflict with other syndicates. Their operations are almost entirely contained to Akiva, which means working for them rarely triggers reputation losses with the Hutts, Crimson Dawn, or Pykes.
The one exception is the Empire. The Ashiga have a deep and active resistance against Imperial occupation of Akiva. Some Ashiga contracts require actions that raise your Imperial alert level significantly. This doesn't affect syndicate standing but can make Akiva more dangerous to navigate for a period.
The Safe Faction Strategy
Because the Ashiga rarely conflict with other factions, they're the ideal faction to work alongside any combination of the others. If you find yourself needing to lay low from Hutt or Crimson Dawn complications, taking Ashiga contracts on Akiva is a clean way to build overall standing without creating new enemies.
The Ashiga Clan is the only faction in Star Wars Outlaws where you can reach Honored standing while simultaneously maintaining Honored standing with every other faction. Their non-overlapping territory makes them uniquely conflict-free.
Pro Tips
- Visit Akiva early and often — The planet has some of the best environmental storytelling in the game and the Ashiga contracts are genuinely enjoyable. Don't treat it as an afterthought.
- Nix is your best tool here — Akiva's jungle environments are designed around Nix's scouting ability. Use it before every contract to find optimal routes and hidden objectives.
- The underground network is worth unlocking — The Honored-tier access to Akiva's hidden paths makes the entire planet dramatically faster to traverse. Unlock it as early as possible.
- Don't over-engage Imperials — Imperial patrols on Akiva are aggressive. Getting into prolonged firefights raises your alert level and makes subsequent Ashiga contracts harder. Stay stealthy.
- The Clan gathering timing — Make a manual save when you first receive the gathering invitation. This lets you return to it if you accidentally progress past it.
- Check vendors frequently — Ashiga vendors rotate their inventory. The best gear items appear without warning and sell out fast. Check in every time you visit Akiva.
